Movies: UP

OK, so I don't get out much, to the movies anyway. So, yes, I am just now seeing UP, when most everyone has already seen it. It really is a sweet little movie. I can't help but think that two of the main characters look very much like some of our old HOLLYWOOD actors. I think Karl looks like a cross between Spencer Tracy and Walter Matthau.
And I think Charles Muntz looks like Kirk Douglas.

Hmmm....interesting. What do you think?

That is funny!

Do you think the movie is appropriate for young children? I haven't let my kids watch it yet because I heard that it deals with miscarriage and other heavy topics-I was unsure about it after that.

My children love it, and they didn't notice that part at first because it's a series of pictures through their life set to music. But, when they did finally notice them imagining the clouds in the shape of babies, them decorating a baby room, and then her crying at the doctor Anna Grace said she's sad momma. And Trey asked is she sad because she's too old to have babies like Sarah (He was refering to the Bible story of Sarah, Abraham, and Issac.) And I told them yes she is sad because she can't have a baby. Trey: Because she's too old? Me: No, she's not too old, but some people can't have babies. That's why we are very lucky to have you, because not everyone can have babies. -They understood. In that same sequence she passes away, but, we have already had death in our family, so I just explained to them that she is in heaven with Jesus, just like grandma. I think it just depends on where you are at in life and what you want to talk to your kids about at this point. I don't shy away from all heavy sujects, but, I do shy away from violence, and disrespect.:)
