Tis the month of Love!

I have been so in the lovey-dove mood lately. Even before February was here, I was ready to celebrate Valentine's Day. I bought a few little happies from Target to brighten up our little home and get ready for the month of LOVE!

It started with my friend Heidi. She knows how much I love cooking and entertaining. So, for my birthday last week, (February 2nd,) she gave me these adorable hot pink dish towels with a little cupcake on them. She also gave me two heart shaped ice trays. Too cute. I'll have to post a picture later. Well, Then I went to Target and bought more dish towels and wash cloths with pink and red hearts on them, a hot pink oven mitt with a cupcake on it, and grocery list that matches to hang on the frig, 4 pink and red owl place mats with hearts on their bellies, 2 heart platters, and 2 children's' trays with owls and hearts on them. Then I got flowers from my sweet husband and mother-in-law for my birthday. So, the house is filled with color. It's nice, since we're stuck inside with all the snow. Not only does it brighten things up, but it lifts your spirits, too.

So, I'm in the mood for love. My sweet sister, Demetria has started a list of things she loves about her husband, over at her blog. She is going to add to it every day throughout the month. I am joining in and you'll find my growing list to the left on my side bar. I'm also taking her lead by doing something special for him everyday, just to remind him how much I love and appreciate him. I'm leaving him little love notes around the house with different shades of kisses. I'm already using my heart shaped ice trays with red food coloring, so I can fill his glass with little red hearts at meal time. And I made him breakfast in bed, and served it on one of the heart shaped platters I purchased. And I have to admit, this is a lot of fun. Won't you join us? Maybe we can even give each other ideas.

I'll leave you with a poem that inspired the name of my list. The poem is by Elizabeth Barrett Browning.

How Do I Love Thee

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace
.
I love thee to the level of every day's
Most
quiet need, by sun and candlelight.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love with a passion put to use
In my old griefs
, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints, I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.

Your gifts sound so nice... can't wait to see photos! And, I think it's so sweet to honor your husband this way... A true inspiration for all women... I'd like to thank you for your recent visit, and for the touching comment you left for me ~hugs~ ...it really meant alot... It's true, as the years pass by, things become a bit easier... but as you know, the memories never fade... Do take care...
God bless...

Laura Grace needs to come live with you for a few days. She was very sad when she realized Mommy is too sick to decorate for Valentines Day this year!!

Browning is so sweet and lovey-dovey! The poem you chose is just perfect!

How sweet are you to make the whole month special for your honey and your sweeties!?!

And HAPPPPPPY Belated Birthday! May I say I am glad to know how you got such beautiful flowers in your pic so early. I was thinking your honey got an early start on Valentines, but it was a bon fide Birthday present, so some how I feel reassured! Tee-hee!

I love Valentines Day too. We never have a sitter to go out but that is okay. We are used to it. We do fun things with the kids instead. This year we are ordering Chinese in and eating on our fine china in the dining room,..the kids are excited.
