Peggy at The Simple woman created this day book meme for her readers to enjoy an inside view of her thoughts and daily life at home. I found her through Dawn at By Sun and Candlelight. In keeping with striving to simplify my life and yet create a warm, inviting and peaceful atmosphere within my home, I thought this would be a great way to journal a snippet of my daily thoughts, feelings and ideas.~Blessings.
For today~ (January 26,2009)...
Outside my window... A new dusting of white snow powder is on the ground from last night. The streets are clear and cars are zooming by on their way to school and work. The trees are tall and brown and bare. And I can see into the thick patch of woods across from our house.
I am thinking... a random list of things...bubble baths and home made valentines, old friends I found on facebook, babies and baby bellies -(I have a lot of pregnant friends right now,) my mom, my birthday (next Monday,) and planning Trey's birthday, which is coming up soon. I'm wondering how I ever let myself get talked into watching Lost, because now I'm totally addicted.
I am thankful for... My wonderful husband. There are a few things that have happened in the past week that have drawn us closer together. Marriage, like any relationship has it's ebb and flow, and can use a little refreshment from time to time. Well, I came up against two small tests in the last week, where I had the opportunity to show him that he comes first. I think we forget sometimes what a difference a small jester like that can make. It's like romance for men. It in turn affected his attentiveness and affection towards me. I don't even think he's aware of it, it was just a natural reaction to my actions.
From the kitchen... Pumpkin bread is baking. It gives our small house a warm Cinnamon-sugar smell.
I am wearing... Pink paisley PJ's. Yes, I know...how sad at 11:00am. Looks like a nice lazy day.
I am creating...No creativity here today....I am gathering supplies, however, to make valentines with the kids.
I am going... to Target and Aldi's today. And then to church tonight for Master's Club. I teach the kindergarten/first grade class.
I am reading... The Shack by William P. Young. -I'm almost finished. I'd love to find someone to discuss it with. Has anyone else read it?
I am hoping... to buy a small pot of mint to put in my kitchen. and maybe a pot of flowers. I feel the need to bring a little spring indoors.
I am hearing... children laughing and playing.
Around the house...there are things to do. Or should I say things that need to be done,
One of my favorite things... My new Mediterranean Mint, Melon, and Sugar body scrub by Boots. I also have been enjoying Mint Bliss energizing lotion for feet and legs from Mary Kay's private spa collection.
A few plans for the rest of the week: to start walking again in the mornings. Rest and quiet time for reading and listening to music.
Here is picture thought I am sharing... limelight-hydrangea. It's one of my favorite flowering plants.

I smiled when I read that about your new body scrub by the Boots brand. When I lived in London, that's their main pharmacy chain, so it brings back so many good memories for me. I'm happy my little European drugstore has a brand in America :o) Have a great day!
I read The Shack last year. Too long ago to really discuss it at this point but I will say it stretched me and made me think out of the box!!! I loved it and highly recommended it on my blog.
