I realize I'm a little late in sharing, but we've been very busy here lately with getting packed up and ready to move next month. I've also been attending a new Bible study on Thursday mornings, and I've had four singing engagements in the past few weeks. The Lord is so gracious. So, I've been a busy lady as of late.
We are still taking our weekly trip to the library on Fridays, and here is one of the treasures that we have found.
It is just a simple straight forward counting book, but the illustrations are so captivating. Kim Parker, the book's author and illustrator is also a very well know textile designer. In this, her first children's book, she shares with us her love of color, art and nature. Each of the creatures in the story are hidden among the flowers in the garden. It's approach is that of a creative little game of hide and seek, and you learn your numbers along the way. We have really enjoyed this book and so I wanted to recommend it for your summer reading! How far along are you in packing? We have hardly done anything, and we've GOT to get on it...wow! Can't believe it's here.
I know! It's exciting and kinda sad at the same time. I've been working on the basement and all the things we don't use on a regular basis that can be boxed up now. I've thrown away at least four large garbage bags full away. Hugh is getting boxes from the hospital for us, and I bought those bags you can put clothes in and vaccum all the air out so it's makes it smaller. I'm going to finish up our winter clothes, bag them and pack them in a large tub. We've really only started as well. We have a long long way to go. We're just trying to do a little at a time, a box a day, so it's not so overwhelming next month. When are y'all moving? Do you have a date yet?
That book looks SO good- you always have such great selections. I think it will be so much fun to take AP to the library one day...it was one of my favorite memories from my childhood!
I think AG would still like Fairy Colors, too. It's so fun and sparkly! There is a Fairy Numbers book, too, that I forgot to mention in my post.
