Will You Read to Me Wednesdays is hosted by Sarah Denley . She thought it would be fun to share some of our favorite children's books. I love the idea and thought I'd join in.
This week, I thought I'd share a book that is very dear to my heart, not only for it's message, but, because it was a gift. The Beloved Son is a Tell-a-Tales book, about the life of Jesus. It is written as a poem depicting the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is a beautiful little book.
I chose this particular book, because, it is one that we have in our reading basket, here at home, for the month of December. And it was a special gift to Anna Grace and Trey from their Mimi. The book was Ms. Donna's when she was a child. And it is signed on the inside cover.
To Donna Hodges
From Mrs. Eva Lott -1957.
Isn't that amazing? What a treasure this is! I was so touched when she gave it to me two years ago for Anna Grace's first Christmas. We read it together last year and we are reading it again this year. It is in wonderful condition and I hope to be able to pass it on to my grand children someday. I love family heirlooms!
What are you reading to your children or grand children this Christmas season? Is it a special family tradition or something new that you found for this year? Or is there a special book you are reading just for you? ~Blessings my friends!

What a sweet gift! I love passed down books :) I will have to try to find this one, it sounds wonderful!
I am working on my post now :)
So...I need to check out this book! I'm not familiar with it, and I always love finding new childrens' books about the Gospel! I'm glad you're playing along; this is so much fun to see what everyone else is reading. Also, I love the Cajun Night Before Christmas, too! It's so funny!
P.S. I go by 'Sarah Denley'. It's a double name; very southern, right? ;)
I haven't heard of this one and will have to check it out. Today I read a new book with my 3 year old grand-daughter. We found it in Branson and it is called 'The Christmas Story'. She now knows about Zacharias, Elizabeth, Gabriel, John, Joseph, Mary and the most important one... Jesus.
I'm so sorry Sarah Denley, I didn't realize you are a double name. Yes, very southern. That's why my little girl is Anna Grace;) I will fix that on my post!
Tiffany, thanks so much, you're too sweet! You did NOT have to fix it. I just feel like we're getting to be "friends" and so I wanted to tell you. Ashley calls me "SD" (like online and in real life, ha!); it's easier!
Sometimes, I just let people do the "Sarah" thing even though I hate it. Peyton got all huffy because I waited about an hour to tell our labor and delivery nurse. He was all "are you going to do that with her; if we name her Ann Peyton?". And we do get a lot of "Anns". So, I try to tell people better.
By the way, Anna Grace is a beautiful name (but I am partial to Anns/Anna/Annies)!
P.S. As if you needed an adendum to this novel--I'd love to follow your childrens' blog. I totally understand what you are saying. I've worried before about putting pictures of AP up. We haven't had any problems, but it makes me nervous. I never thought of just creating a separate blog!
*Annas
OCD. Syntax nazi. Had to fix it. Sorry.
