DON"T Believe the LIES and DON"T Fall Away From the Truth. The ONLY TRUTH IS JESUS!

I realize, as I write this, I will probably lose alot of readers and ruffle alot of feathers. This is something that has weighed as a heavy burden on me spiritually for a few months now. I have prayed about it and have come to the conclusion that I can NO LONGER support, endorse, or even watch Oprah Winfrey. This is so hard for me, because I have admired her for so long. I have been inspired by her wisdom, generousity, and kindness in giving to others. But, I believe that she has been decieved by the LIES of the devil, and she is leading others through her influence into believing those same lies. And THEY ARE LIES my friends- straight from the pit of hell! There is only One God and One way to Him through His son, Jesus! Jesus said himself, "No one comes to the father, except through me." And our God IS a jealous God- not of us, but in the way that He says, "You will have no other gods before me!"

In the book of Revelation, in the Bible, it says in the end days, there will be a great falling away among the faithful. I WILL NOT BE ONE OF THEM! And I have resolved to guard my mind against even the most subtle influence her words may have on me. Revelation also talks about a "Jezabel," who will be embraced as a great teacher. Now, I am not saying that Oprah is the Jezabel, but it scares me to think how her image and influence line up with the picture of a "great teacher." When I heard a couple months ago about her spiritual online classes, I thought it was a joke. That is until Hugh and I found a link to it on her offical website. Then a few weeks ago I found a VHS tape of one of her old shows that my mom had recorded years ago on The Last Temptation of Christ. Amidst the two opposing sides, Oprah introduced an author, who she credited for "changing her life." He shared his veiw and that of his book being that God is every where...God is in all of us...we are all children of god and Jesus is our brother, therefore god's deity is in all of us. WHAT? ARE YOU SERIOUS?!? And if that wasn't enough, take a look at the following....It's just scary!!!!

Preach on my dear sister, I am in total agreement with you. Your words could be my words, I feel the exact same way about all of this. Wake up people, quit following someone who is going to lead you straight to the pit of hell. I will not be decieved, Jesus is the only way. I love you, thanks for standing up for what is right, taking a stand for Jesus. Be blessed sweetie.

Thanks, Tiffany, for sharing this. I never watch her show, so I wasn't aware of this new class she was starting. But alot of women do! I pray someone will be able to reach her, and that she'll turn her life around. The fact that she influences SO MANY is just plain scary! =(

Tiffany,
Great post! Thank you for posting about this! I have recently had this discussion with friends. I did not know about her spirituality class, but she does have a cult follow. It really blows my mind just how much power she has and uses. I found out about you blog from Leah.

Thank ya'll so much for your supportive comments. I'm afraid I've been putting this post off for a while b/c I was afraid of the backlash, I might get from it. I don't want to argue w/ or cause any division w/in the body of Christ. But, I also want to my brothers and sisters in Christ to be aware of what is going on out there- even if it is presented in a "nice, pretty little package," of God's peace and love. It is so easy to be drawn in and hooked by the "feel good" way it is presented. And once you are, it is harder to walk away, b/c like myself, you want to justify and talk yourself out of being "too radical." But a Lie is a Lie. And I don't want to be any part of a Lie against my Jesus!

I have taken to praying for her. She was raised in the Baptist faith. I think on that verse that "If you train up a child in the way he should go he will not depart from it when he is older." I hope that ends up being the case for her. In the meantime...I am glad to say I never had time to watch her anyway, but I plan on refuting her lies whenever I get the chance.

Tiffany, So glad to see that you have also posted the U-Tube about the false teachings of Oprah.

We truly need to pray for her, that God will open her eyes and her ears and that she will see the TRUTH. It is so scary when you realize the influence she has over hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions, of people and the power she wields.

At least we know we are doing the little we can. It's like Jesus taking the 2 loafs and 5 fishes. He just wants us to give him what we have and can. He'll do the rest!!!!

I saw this on Connie's after I had seen Oprah talk about the class on her show.
I went on her web page to get further info---sad.
The new age religion is slowly making its way even into some churches.
They are mixing a little "baal" worship with worship of God.
He will not stand for it long.
I don't want to be one of the deceived either.
Thanks for posting this.

Thanks for your kind comment on my blog and for sharing your memory. It's so precious.

I watched the Oprah video and it's got me all riled up! I'm so upset over this mass disception that I've got tears welling up! I'm going to work up my own post on this as well.

I don't have time to watch Oprah, but I know people that wouldn't miss her for anything. I've been deceived by her generosity and good deeds.

Thanks for bringing this to the forefront.

BTW.... when you were over at my blog, did you hear the song by CeCe Winnans, "Hallelujah"? You being a fellow singer and choral person you'd appreciate the phenominal background chorus. The runs are amazing, IMO!

I posted about this today. Thanks again for the heads up on this.

Tiffany,
This is an excellent post. I remember being so upset one day when I heard Oprah say on her show that there cannot be just one way to Heaven. I used to watch her show regularly, but just cannot anymore. I had no idea about her classes! My goodness.
We truly do need to pray for her. She has such influence over so many women!
Thank you for doing this post!
Blessings,
Kimberly

I am so glad you posted this. My pastor did a sermon on "Oprah and Friends" a couple of weeks ago. I don't think people realize how serious this is. There a lot of people that think that Oprah is wonderful and could do no wrong. While I know she does a lot for people in the temporal way, she is leading a mass of followers to hell and it's sad.

This is why we MUST be in God's word, so we know when people speak the truth or not.

Thanks

Excellent post Tiffany! Amen amen. The scary thing is, those "seeking" or the lost sheep will be taken in by this(or anything "O" says). Lord have mercy.

I know I'm late in seeing this post, but I had to laugh. Only because I saw this same clip a few days ago and was appalled. I could not believe it. I was planning on posting how scary and ridiculous this is. Can you believe it? Like you, I continued to think about scriptures references to the last days.
Blessings to you for taking a stand and posting this!

NEVER been a fan of Oprah, having "read between the lines" of many of her quotes in magazine articles over the years. Still I was surprised when a friend of my husband's emailed him about her new class on line...when I saw your comments about this at another blog last week, I went to her site. It is just like the Bible says it will be at this time in history, or should I say HIS story!

RE: those who are praying for her...wouldn't be AWESOME for her to have a life changing Damascus road experience?! Think of the people she could reach with truth instead of lies! May that fuel your prayers! It will be fueling mine!

Tiff, so glad you stepped up and stepped out on to the waters! And found you didn't sink!

Maria
